Definitely different from his more recent collaboratively ethereal and leisurely LP's, this is a crepitating, sparsely textured album that sounds like a peregrine mixture of Whitehouse eeriness, Diamanda Galas, and the first Sonic Youth LP if it was played by Jandek. A fascinating LP that is best played at very loud volumes lying on the sofa after a few Fernet Branca's. brantly

"Through You" is one of my favorite private press finds, a magical album, and I was astonished to find that a band as seemingly obscure as The Contents Are actually had a whole high-quality studio album of material like this! "Four Each Other" is surprisingly top notch, the writing/playing/recording is fantastic. No studio recording could match the twilight magic of "Through You" but this album is an incredible find nonetheless. This band was GREAT. Miracles still happen! jeffreylewisband
